The Samoa Housing Corporation’s Board of Directors and Management recently came together for a two-day capacity building and policy review session held at the beautiful Agamalu Beach Resort. The session focused on reviewing SHC’s Lending Policy and Loans & Securities Manual. It provided an opportunity for Board members and Management to engage in meaningful discussions, share perspectives, and reflect on how SHC’s policies and processes can continue to evolve to better serve the people of Samoa.
The two days were marked by open dialogue, collaborative learning, and constructive engagement. Participants worked through key areas of the current policies, identifying practical improvements and discussing proposed amendments that will strengthen SHC’s operations, governance, and service delivery. Beyond the policy discussions, the session also created space for relationship building between the Board and Management. The relaxed setting encouraged honest conversations, knowledge sharing, and a shared commitment to SHC’s mission of supporting access to housing for Samoan families.
The outcomes from the discussions will contribute to further refining SHC’s lending framework and operational procedures, ensuring that the Corporation continues to operate effectively while meeting the housing needs of communities across Samoa.
