Samoa Housing Corporation celebrates Public Service Day 2023

The Samoa Housing Corporation (SHC) joined the nationwide celebration of Public Service Day, marking the twelfth year of this important event. This year’s theme, “Agaga Tautua” or “Spirit of Service,” underscores the core values of public service: dedication, respect, and efficiency.

In a statement, the Cabinet emphasized that the Public Service Day half-day should not be considered a day off or holiday, but a time to honor these values.

To commemorate the day, all public servants across various agencies were invited to participate in a parade. The procession began at the Ministry of Police compound and concluded at the FMFM II Building in Matagialalua.

Participants were instructed to assemble at their designated car parks by 6:00 am, with the march starting promptly at 7:30 am. The event also featured a thanksgiving prayer service. Deputy Prime Minister Tuala Iosefo Ponifasio delivered the keynote address on behalf of Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa, officially opening Public Service Day 2023.
